How to Get to Mount Vesuvius

By bus — the honest budget route

From Ercolano (Circumvesuviana station) and from the Pompei side, buses climb to the trailhead: the public EAV bus at about €2.70 on board, plus local shuttle services around €3. It is real public transport — seasonal timetables, queues on cruise-heavy days — and it works well for flexible travellers. By car

Drive the switchback road to the paid parking below the trailhead — schedule freedom in exchange for Campania traffic and cruise-day parking pressure. The trail and its rules are identical from the tarmac up.
